Science Oxford is the public face of The Oxford Trust, an Charity founded in 1985 by Sir Martin and Lady Wood. Our mission is ‘to encourage the study, application and communication of science and technology’
It is our belief that science reaches every one of us, whether we are using a mobile phone, catching the common cold, or feeling the warmth of the sun. We bring science to ordinary people across the region, we enthuse school children so that they want to be scientists, and we encourage businesses to want to invest in science.
We are working to establish a new world-class home for science and enterprise at the heart of Oxford. “The Magnet” will consist of a state of the art innovation centre, and a public science discovery centre with a major engagement programme for schools and the public.
