Partners benefit from Oxford AHSN networks

Milton Keynes University Hospital has been strengthened by the emergence of Oxford AHSN networks, according to the Trust’s Chief Executive Professor Joe Harrison.

Prof Harrison said: “We absolutely see the AHSN as a core part of developing networks across the region that allow Milton Keynes to play a bigger part on the regional and national stage.”

Prof Harrison was speaking at the last of seven Oxford AHSN events showcasing the benefits to patients of collaborations between industry, universities and the NHS.

Around 40 people attended the showcase at Milton Keynes University Hospital on 26 May.

Dr Paul Durrands, Chief Operating Officer of the Oxford AHSN, gave an overview of the depth and breadth of collaboration across the Oxford AHSN region.

This was demonstrated in more detailed presentations covering dementia, maternity and clinical innovation adoption.

There was also a contribution from Evidence Based Healthcare Masters Fellow Edel Clare, a research midwife at Milton Keynes.
