Mental health

Good mental health is essential to our general health and wellbeing.  The total cost of mental ill health in England is estimated at £105 billion per year and 1 in 4 people will experience mental health issues each year. The Oxford AHSN recognises that there is no health without mental health and has developed a Mental Health programme to support clinicians, patients and their families, commissioners and the wider community, using and implementing evidence-based technologies, innovative ways of working, and therapies to improve outcomes for anyone experiencing poor mental health.

The Oxford AHSN ran a successful initiative offering free access to Sleepio, an online sleep improvement programme. Read more here.

Two of the national programmes being adopted by all 15 AHSNs relate to mental health. Read more here.
