The Oxford AHSN and partners from the NHS and industry have won £115,000 from the NHS Digital Partnerships Award fund. It will support development of a home monitoring system that detects and analyses night-time seizure-like activity to aid epilepsy diagnosis, management and treatment.
The Oxford AHSN is working on this project with Neuro Event Labs, the company behind the technology, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Oxford University Hospitals.
The approach involves monitoring patients at home while they sleep, helping prevent emergency admissions through faster and more accurate diagnosis. The system also aims to provide a better experience for people with learning disabilities or those whose native language is not English, helping to reduce anxiety.
In total 27 projects will share the £5.5m NHS Digital Partnerships Award fund which was created to help NHS organisations accelerate the adoption of digital health technologies to support patients with long-term health conditions. Further information
