Life sciences minister praises ‘special’ Oxford networks

Ashmolean_drinks-Lowres-060 George Freeman MP, the Minister for Life Sciences, praised the Oxford Academic Health Science Network in his speech during our Alumni Summit.

Speaking at the Ashmolean Museum on 9 July, Mr Freeman said: “Something very special is going on here in Oxford in this AHSN.

“The life sciences sector is doing extraordinary things. It’s all built on brilliant science with joined up activity and thinking.

“AHSNs have such a big part to play, to be the delivery arm to unlock the power of research and Academic Health Science Centres and link them to local health economies.”

The aim of our first Alumni Summit was to bring together alumni of universities in our region with UK leaders in life sciences drawn from industry, acadaemia and government to create new opportunities for collaboration and progress in tackling 21st century healthcare challenges.
