Harnessing innovation to keep people well and out of hospital

The Oxford AHSN and Wessex AHSN are working hard on a joint submission to the NHS England test bed programme.

Our focus is ‘Keeping people well and out of hospital using digital, diagnostic and precision medicine innovation’.

We are in the process of identifying lead organisations and innovators to improve patient outcomes, experience and safety and deliver value for money in four key clinical areas:

  • Better outcomes for people with long-term conditions
  • Reducing hospital admissions for children
  • Improving quality of life for people with respiratory disease
  • Improving the stroke care pathway

We are holding a series of briefings where patients, clinicians and commissioners can find out more:

Oxford AHSN Chief Executive Prof Gary Ford said: “Without the support of commissioners, clinical leaders and patients we will not see the wholesale adoption of innovations that keep people well and out of hospital.”
